I grew up on Mercer Island, a place that holds a special place in my heart, until I moved away for college. After over two decades in Seattle, I found my way back to the island with my own family. The allure of Mercer Island’s close-knit community, exceptional schools, and easy access to nature through its abundant parks, trails, and Lake Washington access, has made it an oasis for us. The island’s unique blend of nature and suburban comfort feels like a true haven, and I’m grateful to once again call Mercer Island home.
Its central location, connected to both Seattle and Bellevue by bridges, grants residents easy access to major employment centers and cultural attractions. The island’s hilly terrain, lush greenery, and shoreline views create an idyllic setting that appeals to outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking a tranquil escape from the bustle of nearby cities.
Residents and visitors alike can indulge in a variety of recreational activities on Mercer Island. Parks, trails, and waterfront areas provide opportunities for hiking, picnicking, boating, and fishing. Mercer Island’s vibrant arts scene includes galleries, theaters, and cultural events that contribute to a rich and diverse cultural tapestry.
